I’m a big fan of noise-canceling earbuds in most situations, but when it comes to running, I’ve always preferred something that doesn’t drown out the sound of approaching cars, dogs, and other obstacles. Luckily, if you’re in the same camp as me, Suunto’s new Sonic headphones are on sale at Amazon and direct from Suunto for $129 ($20 off). You can also pick up the Suunto Wing — which come with a power bank and a few extra features — from Amazon and Suunto for $169 ($30 off).
Although they’re pricier than other pairs of open-ear headphones, namely those from Shokz, both the Suunto Sonic and Wing use the same bone conduction tech to send sound vibrations through your cheekbones instead of your ear canal. They aren’t going to rival the sound you’d get with a dedicated pair of in-ears like the Beats Fit Pro — particularly when it comes to bass or sheer volume — but they offer a comfortable wraparound design, good sound, and an estimated 10 hours of battery life. The more expensive Wing add LED lighting, better IP67 waterproofing, and a power bank that holds an additional 20 hours of charge. They also tout head motion controls, though my colleague Victoria Song found the latter feature to be a bit finicky in her testing. Then again, there’s nothing that says you have to control your music playback or answer calls by shaking your head.

- 8BitDo’s latest Retro Mechanical Keyboard is receiving its first sizable discount at Amazon, where you can pick up the IBM-inspired model for $79.99 ($20 off). It’s nowhere near as beefy as the OG Model M; however, the “M Edition” board offers a standard tenkeyless layout, hot-swappable Kailh Box White V2 switches, and dual wireless / USB-C wired connectivity. It even comes with the same comically large Super Buttons we featured in our Button of the Month series, allowing for plenty of customization.
- Several weeks ago, Ugreen rolled out an adorable collection of iPhone and USB accessories, all of which feature TFT screens that can display robot-like emoji faces when plugged in. And now, the company’s entry-level Uno 100W-capable USB-C to USB-C cable is on sale at Amazon starting at $7.64 when you clip the on-page coupon. Yes, it’s a $1.35 discount. Yes, I will be buying it even if I technically don’t know what facial expression it’s making.
- Just because summer is behind us doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of occasions that call for a portable speaker. Thankfully, if you don’t already own one, the UE Wonderboom 4 has fallen to an all-time low of $69.99 ($30 off) in select colors at Amazon. The pint-sized Bluetooth speaker packs the same robust IP67 rating as earlier models — only, this time, UE has outfitted it with USB-C charging and a new megaphone feature that will project your voice when you hit a button and talk into it. That’s one way to get a cheap PA system.
